Beaches

Unique beaches with a special charm.

La Malagueta

Malaga’s great city beach, a few minutes’ walk from the historic centre. Golden sand, a long palm-lined promenade and lively chiringuitos make it a favourite with locals and visitors alike. Lifeguards, sun loungers, showers and water sports: perfect for a break between sights.

La Caleta

Just beyond La Malagueta, La Caleta has a calmer, more residential feel. A fine stretch of sand, quiet waters and a pleasant promenade at the foot of old villas. Ideal for a peaceful swim, away from the bustle of the centre.

Baños del Carmen

One of Malaga’s most charming and history-laden beaches. Set around a former 1918 bathing resort, its tall eucalyptus and palm trees almost dip into the sea. A bohemian, romantic spot, famous for its sunsets and its chiringuito right by the water.

Pedregalejo

Malaga’s old fishermen’s quarter, with small sandy coves separated by groynes. Its lively promenade is lined with chiringuitos serving the famous espetos, sardines grilled on the boats. An authentic, friendly atmosphere, very popular at weekends.

El Palo

Malaga’s most traditional fishing village, still paced by the boats resting on the sand. This is where you’ll savour the best espetos, grilled over a wood fire facing the sea. A family-friendly, down-to-earth beach to taste the real Malaga by the water.
